Entry requirements
A Bachelor's degree, equivalent to a Swedish Kandidatexamen, from an internationally recognised university.
Also required is 60 credits in economics and 15 credits in statistics (or closely related subject).
Learning outcomes
After completing this course, the student is expected to be able to adapt and apply the microeconomic toolkit to a variety of real world economic problems.
Content
Microeconomic tools will be used to analyse a variety of economic problems, such as:
- The migration decision
- Immigrant performance
- The impact of immigration on natives' outcomes
- Skill formation and investment in human capital
- The education production function
- Intergenerational mobility
- Returns to education
Instruction
The course consists of a series of lectures.
Assessment
The examination of the course consists of a written exam.
