Learning outcomes
On completion of the course the student shall be able to:
- describe and illustrate concepts of quantum photonics and 2D optics
- give examples and describe applications of quantum optics and photonics
- independently carry out projects in quantum optics and photonics
- orally and in writing present projects in a correct language in technical/scientific form
Content
Optics of quantum material. Quantum dots and single photon emitters. Chiral quantum optics. Topological photonics and quantum topological phase. Classical and quantum plasmonics. Quantum photonic circuits. Quantum calculation and quantum internet.
Instruction
Lectures, guest lectures, seminars and project work.
Assessment
Project work with oral presentation at a seminar.
If there are special reasons for doing so, an examiner may make an exception from the method of assessment indicated and allow a student to be assessed by another method. An example of special reasons might be a certificate regarding special pedagogical support from the disability coordinator of the university.
