Learning outcomes
After a successfully completed course the student should be able to:
- describe different principles for additive manufacturing,
- evaluate opportunities and limitations with additive manufacturing,
- describe how additive manufacturing affects the design of components,
- acount for how additive manufacturing affects the structure of the material and the properties of components,
- demonstrate experimental skills in additive manufacturing.
Content
Different concepts for additive manufacturing in materials from different material classes. Types and manufacture of raw materials. Design and process preparation for additive manufacturing. The printing processes and post-processing. Quality assurance.
Instruction
Lectures and project work.
Assessment
Project report (1 credit). Written exam (4 credits).
If there are special reasons for doing so, an examiner may make an exception from the method of assessment indicated and allow a student to be assessed by another method. An example of special reasons might be a certificate regarding special pedagogical support from the disability coordinator of the university.
