The publication process for AUU

Project ideas are discussed by the author and the series editor. The series editor assesses the project’s potential to be subsequently approved for publication in the series.

Authors (or, in the case of an anthology, the editor) must submit a formal application for publication permission. The application must include a manuscript, as a synopsis alone is not sufficient to make a decision on publication permission.

If there is a conflict of interest, the editor shall decide to delegate the review to an impartial reviewer.

The series editor approves or rejects the application.

Approved publication permissions are signed and sent for archiving to the coordination unit at the University Library: uup@uu.se

The author is responsible for funding the publication. A publication permit is required regardless of the funding model.

(Special rules apply to the funding of theses).

The terms and conditions for distribution and licensing are signed by authors and sent to the coordination unity at the University Library: uup@uu.se.

Normally, typesetting of print files is handled by Uppsala University Library’s book production service, but it can also be carried out by the author or with the help of a third party.

Printed versions are produced using traditional printing methods or via print-on-demand. Digital publication takes place via open access through the University's publishing platforms.

Distribution of printed copies is carried out through
direct sales as well as via established retailers both nationally and internationally.
