Interview with Emil Andersen
"Enjoy your time and make the most of it, professionally and socially. They go very well together here."
- Emil Andersen's advice to current master's students.

How do you look back on your time as a student? What do you miss, and what don't you miss?
I miss the history community, contact with teachers and the international student life in Uppsala.
How has your education influenced your professional life?
It has given me very valuable tools for the PhD I am doing right now. I generally feel I have a huge advantage as the master’s programme was so research focused. I also feel very much at ease in any professional
international setting.
Which skills, both professionally and in everyday life, that you developed during your studies do you value the most?
My academic English and a sense of an international community. A kind of cosmopolitanism?
If you were to give current master's students one practical piece of advice, what would it be?
Enjoy your time and make the most of it professionally and socially. They go very well together here.
Favorite place in Uppsala?
I have too many to pick one, but the city milieu around Fyrisån
is one!
Which student tradition do you miss the most?
The gasques
One thing you shouldn't miss out on during your time as a student in Uppsala?
All the social life
