READ - Research and Education Across Disciplines
READ is CIRCUS’ own research network and gathers researchers and PhD students from different parts of Uppsala University. Collaboration between disciplines, i.e. inter- and multidisciplinary research, is considered by politicians, as well as researchers, as an important recipe for success. But how is this type of work conducted, what does it mean for the organisation of education and research, and what challenges and conflicts are created through such collaborations? The READ network serves as an open platform for discussion, knowledge exchange and mutual research initiatives around the multifaceted role of inter- and multidisciplinary research in society and academia. With a sense of curiosity for different modes of entry, theories and methods, we wish to strengthen the knowledge base at CIRCUS about cross-cutting research. We also want to develop as a meeting space across disciplines, research fields and faculties. The network also aims to collaborate internationally around these topics.
