Islamophobia in Sweden

The research seminar discusses current research on Islamophobia in Sweden based on the new special issue of the Islamophobia Studies Journal (vol. 9, no. 2, March 13, 2026). The seminar highlights how Islamophobia can be understood as a structured form of anti-Muslim racism and discusses its consequences for civil society, public administration, legal processes and Muslims' opportunities for full participation in Swedish society. The seminar is aimed at researchers, doctoral students and students with an interest in religion, racism, politics and contemporary social development.
