How the Centre is structured
The Centre for Gender Research is placed within the Disciplinary Domain of Humanities and Social Sciences and the Faculty of Arts. The Centre collaborates with all disciplinary domains at Uppsala University.
The Centre is led by a Board, and under the Board, a Director.
The Board
According to the instructions for the Centre for Gender Research, the Centre should be led by a Board consisting of a Chairperson and six other board members. The Board is appointed by the Faculty of Board for the Faculty of Arts, accordingly:
- Chairperson, based on a suggestion from the Disciplinary Domain Board for the Disciplinary Domain of Humanities and Social Sciences
- Two board members, one of which should be from the Faculty of Arts, based on suggestion from the Disciplinary Domain Board for the Disciplinary Domain of Humanities and Social Sciences
- One board member, based on suggestion from the Disciplinary Domain Board for the Disciplinary Domain of Medicine and Pharmacy
- One board member, based on suggestion from the Disciplinary Domain Board for the Disciplinary Domain of Science and Technology
- The Student Unions jointly appoints two representatives, preferably a student from the undergraduate level and one PhD student
- Representatives for the staff unions have right of presence and expression
- The members of the Board are appointed for a period of three years (student representatives for one year).
