On June 16th-17th, the Centre for Health Economic Research (HEFUU) at Uppsala University arranged a workshop on “Causal Health Economics” with 25 participants at Krusenbergs Herrgård near Uppsala. It was the second time that HEFUU arranged this workshop. The aim of the workshop was to share ongoing research, and to inspire discussions and collaborations among leading health economics researchers from the Nordic countries.

Keynote speaker was Professor Nicolas R. Ziebarth (University of Mannheim) who delivered a lecture with the title Sick Leave Economics and Policy. HEFUU was honoured to welcome Prof. Ziebarth, whose influential research spans health insurance, patient and provider incentives, modelling healthcare expenditure as well as sick leave. His research has been featured in several magazines and newspapers of record, such as the Economist and the Washington Post.
