Today is the start of Alzheimer Europe's annual conference, which this year is being organised in Geneva, Switzerland. The theme is 'New horizons - Innovating for dementia'. PhD candidates Frida Svedin and Oscar Blomberg participate from U-CARE.

Presentations of INVOLVERA

During the conference, Frida Svedin and Oscar Blomberg will both present parts of their PhD theses that are part of the INVOLVERA research project. Within INVOLVERA, a support programme is being developed for people with dementia. In the development of the support programme, informal caregivers of people with dementia are involved as research partners.

– Our research partners work together with us in the development of the support programme and share their lived experiences and perspectives, Frida Svedin explains.

Oscar Blomberg will present a poster on how key stakeholders can be involved during the development of the support programme (intervention) for people with dementia.

– It’s difficult to develop an intervention that is fully relevant to the target group, says Oscar. One way to make an intervention more relevant is to involve key stakeholders in the development process.

Frida Svedin will give an oral presentation at the conference about experiences and impact of public contribution in research.

– My presentation will both deal with how our research partners have impacted our research project, as well as how their participation has impacted on themselves, says Frida.

What are you most looking forward to during the conference?

– I look forward to mingling and meeting other researchers and PhD students who also conduct research on dementia, says Oscar.

– I am most looking forward to meeting other researchers and seeing how they work with public contribution in research, says Frida.
