About SOVA

SOVA is a research project within the CIRCLE - Complex Intervention Research in Health and Care research group which hosts the strategic research programme U-CARE.

SOVA seeks to adapt and test the intervention DREAMS-START in Sweden, with the overall goal of reducing sleep problems for people living with dementia at home and their informal carers.

The ‘DREAMS-START’ intervention has previously been shown to be effective in the United Kingdom and is now being adapted for the Swedish context.

Intervention

DREAMS-START (Dementia RElAted Manual for Sleep: STrAtegies for RelaTives) includes and combines psychoeducation with support for establishing routines and planning daily activities, as well as practical tools related to light exposure, relaxation strategies, and carer support.

Principal investigator: Associate senior lecturer, Docent Sophie Nadia Gaber
