Short presentation
I am an Associate Professor and Senior Lecturer in Global Health at Uppsala University, with a focus on Women’s and Children’s Health and Nutrition. My research began with exploring the link between women’s empowerment and children’s nutrition and has since expanded to include gender-based violence and nutritional epidemiology. I have over a decade of experience teaching global health and nutritional science at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels in Sweden.

I served as the Principal Investigator for a VR-funded project titled Patterns and Determinants of Domestic Violence Against Women in Rural Bangladesh and Consequent Child Abuse: An Analysis of Longitudinal Data from MINIMat (2001-2018) (2019-2022). Since 2023, I have been collaborating with the National Centre for Knowledge on Men's Violence Against Women on a project evaluating cervical cancer screening among women with experiences of violence in Sweden
