I am an Associate Professor and Senior Lecturer in Global Health at Uppsala University, with a focus on Women’s and Children’s Health and Nutrition. My research began with exploring the link between women’s empowerment and children’s nutrition and has since expanded to include gender-based violence and nutritional epidemiology. I have over a decade of experience teaching global health and nutritional science at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels in Sweden.

Forskning
I have got my master in “International Health” from Uppsala University in year 2011. During my trainings I grew interest in women’s status and effects of their status on children’s health. This led me to start my PhD in order to evaluate associations between different aspects of women’s status- including social support, autonomy and experience of domestic violence- with their mental health, feeding practices and child nutritional status in Bangladesh and Nicaragua. I have got my PhD in 2016 from Uppsala university and now I am working as a researcher in the department of women's and children's health.
