Short presentation

I am a Dietitian and Nutritionist with over six years of experience in clinical practice, public health, and nutritional epidemiology. I am currently a doctoral researcher at Uppsala University, where my work focuses on addressing malnutrition among older adults.

Previously, I worked as a Research Assistant at Karolinska Institutet, coordinating clinical trials and EU-funded projects that use digital health tools to better understand dietary behaviors across diverse populations.

Biography

My work brings together nutrition, health systems, and data-driven approaches to better understand dietary behavior. I am particularly interested in how evidence-based nutrition strategies can be translated into practical solutions that improve health outcomes across different populations, especially in aging societies. I also have experience in hospital food service management, where I worked on improving meal quality and supporting dietary compliance for patients and healthcare staff.

Research

My doctoral research focuses on malnutrition among older adults in residential care settings. I investigate how institutional environments and organizational factors shape residents’ actual dietary intake, with the aim of understanding the key barriers to adequate nutrition in later life. By bringing together clinical data, dietary assessments, and the experiences of both residents and staff, my work aims to improve how malnutrition is identified and to support more effective, person-centered care in the Swedish healthcare system.
