Professor of Education, Phd Communication studies
Children's social life, peer language socialisation, emotional/moral engagements and identity work (gender,etnicity, social class, age) in multicultural/multilingual educational settings. Drawing on videoethnographies, and language socialisation approach combined with multimodal interactional analysis of social interaction.

Biography
My areas of research specialization comprise the broader fields of children's interaction and peer language socialization, identity-work. multilingualism, affect and morality as socially situated and locally constituted phenomena embedded in cultural practices. I have carried out videoethnographic research across educational settings (school, preschool, leisure-time program, special needs practices) with a focus on children's peer group interactions and adult-child interaction.
My research can be organized in three interrelated subfields:
1a) From a peer language socialization approach, examining children's identity-work (gender, ethnicity, class, disability, age) in their social and cultural contexts 1b) children's interactional practices (i.e. play and games, multilingualism, bulling, disputes, gossip, story telling, moral account-work) and language socialisation in multiethnic peer groups
2) Pedagogical discourse, affect and moral order and heteroglossic practices and multilingualism as an integral part of children's peer culture and adult-child interaction
3) Methodological interests in studies of talk-and bodies-in-interaction, everyday language practices, combining a language socialization approach, ethnography with conversation analysis and ethnomethodology
