Research areas
At the Department of ALM, research is conducted based on an interplay between perspectives from archival science, library and information science, museum and heritage studies, and digital humanities. A particularly characteristic of the research in Uppsala is its foundation in an interdisciplinary interest in information and knowledge infrastructures, collections, and societal memory. We focus on evolving starting points, arrangements, and practices; how they are created, organized, managed, and utilized both from a historical perspective and in the present.
The department collaborates with other disciplines within Uppsala University and has numerous Swedish and international partners.
