Description

By combining solar power and so-called bi-directional electric vehicle charging, that is charging in and out of the vehicle, the electric vehicle batteries can both contribute to stabilizing the electricity grid, and also generate revenue. This project investigates the possibility for workplace electric vehicle charging to stabilizing the electricity system via participating in various electricity and frequency markets in Sweden. It is a collaboration between Uppsala University and industry partners working with state-of-the-art solutions for vehicle market participation.

In the project advanced market models for participating with stationary battery storage will be extended to electric vehicle batteries as well. The models will also be extended with advanced forecasting methods for both locally produced solar power and available electric vehicle battery capacity. Simultaneously, the industrial partner organizations will work on the charging technologies. The scientific models will be used in the technology of the industrial partners within the project.
