Dance Performance meets Anthropological Theory at the Cultural Night in Uppsala
Saturday, September 14th, is the day of Swedens largest Cultural Night, right here in Uppsala. Regerdless of the name, it is a whole day event with hundreds of activities across the town. Make sure not to miss these exciting events, where anthropologists from our department are participating:
SEGERSTEDTSHUSET 16:00-18:00 TRAKT - A CONVERSATION ABOUT BEING HUMAN IN A CHANGING WORLD
Artists, researchers and architects talk about being human in a changing world and how we shape and relate to our environment; the inner and outer landscape. The conversation takes place in connection with the exhibition Trakt by Zimm Hall. Trakt is a temporary pavilion outside Segerstedthuset where an exhibition of works based on the site is shown to talk about what the city of the future looks like.

UPPSALA ART MUSEUM AT 18:00-21:00 DANCE PERFORMANCE BULLSHIT JOBS
Choreographer Zala Pezdir and her company Babice dance to readings from David Graeber's book Bullshit Jobs: A Theory (2018) Graeber (1961-2020) was a North American anthropologist and activist known for his thought-provoking works. Apart from the book to be read on this occasion, he is the author of Debt: The First 5,000 Years (2011), The Democracy Project (2013), The Utopia of Rules (2015), and The Dawn of Everything (co-authored with David Wengrow, 2021).

Reading: Linnea Löfveberg, Nadia Lovell, Susann Baez Ullberg and Teodora Džoni at the Department of Cultural Anthropology and Ethnology.
