What is Anthropology and Ethnology?
Cultural Anthropologists and Ethnologists want to understand people and the way they organize socially, politically and culturally. Through long term fieldwork and ethnographic writing, we create knowledge about social forms and cultural expressions. With a focus on human beings in contemporary society, the department's research has great thematic diversity with research projects scattered all over the world.
OUTOFSIGHT
The Department of Cultural Anthropology and Ethnology is hosting the ERC Advanced Grant research project OUTOFSIGHT, with distinguished University Professor of Anthropology Don Kulick as PI and project director.
Interview with Don Kulick
How do people become invisible in society, and what happens when experiences, occupations or groups fall outside our field of attention?
