Christer Betsholtz awarded Distinguished Professor
The Swedish Research Council has decided to award Christer Betsholtz a grant for Distiguished Professors.
The grant is for 47 million SEK in total during ten years and will be used for studies of blood vessel growth and function in health and disease.
“This is of course a fantastic honour and a security for the future. The size and duration of the grant makes it possible to build from the base and focus on difficult questions and projects that are perilous and time consuming, but if successful can provide important results. And obviously, this is of what we intend to do!” says Christer Betsholtz.
In total 126 applications were submitted to the call for applications within the programme Grants for Distinguished Professors. The aim of the programme is to create possibilities for the most prominent researchers to perform long-term research with large potential and large risk.
