This year’s Lennart Philipson prize to Maria Ulvmar
Malin och Lennart Philipsons Stiftelse has decided to award Maria Ulvmar this year’s Lennart Philipson prize.
The purpose of the Lennart Philipson prize is to facilitate for young researchers to establish an independent research group after their postdoctoral education. Every other year the prize is awarded a researcher at Uppsala University, and the other year to a researcher at Karolinska Institutet.
‘To receive the Lennart Philipson prize and award is a great honour and it gives me the best possible start for my independent research career. The funding allows me to expand my research group, which will be vital for the results we can produce over the next coming years. The association of the prize and grant with Lennart Philipson’s name gives it a value that goes far beyond the monetary aspect,’ says Maria Ulvmar.
The prize is a yearly grant of one million SEK for two years, including a personal prize of SEK 50 000. This year’s prize will be presented in connection with the ”Lennart Philipson Memorial Lecture” on 17 October 2016.
