New Digital Archive of Swedish-American Press

156 years of Swedish-American and Swedish-Canadian newspapers, spanning 1851–2007, are now searchable and accessible to researchers, genealogists, and the general public.

The vast digital archive is the result of almost two decades of work undertaken by the Minnesota Historical Society, the American Swedish Institute, and Sweden's National Library.

"The fact that it is now digitized in its entirety represents a major step forward, both for academic research and for genealogists," says Dag Blanck, senior professor of North American studies at Uppsala University.

The collection is available at Swedish American Newspapers.
