IGP researcher receive grants for covid-19 research
Gunilla Enblad is one of the researchers who has been granted funding in SciLifeLab’s call for applications for covid-19 research, financed by Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation. She is awarded SEK 700 000 for the project Biological investigations of Covid-19 in cancer patients.
Other IGP researchers who are granted funding are Lars Feuk for the project Rapid cDNA and direct RNA sequencing of SARS-CoV-2 using Oxford Nanopore, Masood Kamali-Moghaddam for the project COVID-19 screening test design, and Ulf Landegren for the project PLA-based large-scale analysis of Corona virus immunity. In addition, Sven Nelander is a co-applicant in the project Multi-level profiling of Coronavirus-infected cells by combining Viral Entry Assays, Cell Painting, and DrugSEQ, led by Ola Spjuth at the Department of Pharmaceutical Biosciences.
The call, which was open in the end of March, resulted in 282 applications in total, for more than SEK 306 million. The 67 funded projects have been organized in 9 areas, out of which 2 are led by Ulf Gyllensten.
