Funding for three projects in Information Systems

Two researchers at the Department of Informatics and Media have received funding from Forte, WASP-HS and Formas.

Jenny Eriksson Lundström:

  • Forte: Included!
The project Included! (Co-created Guidelines for Inclusive Digital Social Services) explores how digital welfare services can work better in everyday life for people in socially vulnerable situations. By analysing and co‑creating digital interactions in social services – from application to follow‑up – the project works together with women with experience of homelessness, municipalities, and civil society to develop practical guidelines for more inclusive digital services.
  • WASP-HS: HumAIn Gov
The project HumAIn Gov (Human Dignity, Judgment & Responsibility in Algorithmic Welfare Governance) - focuses on how AI can be used in the public sector without undermining accountability, legal certainty, or human judgement. Through practice‑based studies of how AI is used as decision support in cases that affect people’s access to welfare or public services, the project identifies governance approaches that make automated decisions easier to understand, trace, and hold accountable.

Pär Ågerfalk:

  • Formas: DRAG-project
The DRAG project (Data‑Ready Sustainability in Regional Agri‑Food Value Chains) explores how sustainability data in the food sector can be made more usable, comparable, and easily accessible without overburdening producers and companies with reporting requirements. The project addresses this challenge by developing and testing new ways of collecting, sharing, and using environmental and sustainability data in two typical food value chains on Gotland: potatoes (from farm to potato salad on the supermarket shelf) and beef (from farm to the meat counter).

Jenny Eriksson is Senior Lecturer, and Pär Ågerfalk is Professor of Information Systems. Both at the Department of Informatics and Media, Uppsala University.
