The Nordic Association of Linguists
The Nordic Association of Linguists (NAL) was founded in 1976 and is a major forum for linguists working in the Nordic countries, and linguists elsewhere, working on a Nordic language or in general linguistics.
Two series of international conferences are organized under the auspices of NAL:
- The International Conference on Nordic and General Linguistics
- The Scandinavian Conference of Linguistics.
In addition, the Association publishes the Nordic Journal of Linguistics (NJL) with Cambridge University Press. The journal covers all branches of linguistics but gives preference to contributions of general and methodological interest and studies on Nordic languages.
