In December 2022, the Science Council granted SEK 24.8 million to partially fund the salary for research students within a research school in Islamology. On this website you will find brief information about the research school in Islamology.

Linnaeus University is coordinator for the graduate school in Islamology, where Lund University, Gothenburg University, Stockholm University, Södertörn University, Uppsala University and Umeå University are also included as equal partners. Research students within the research school are accepted at one of these universities.

Depending on the university, the students are accepted in one of the following research subjects: Religious Studies, History of Religions, Didactics or History of Religions with an Islamic focus (Islamology) or Systematic Theology with a focus on Islamic Theology and Philosophy. The criteria for assessing applications are determined by the universities. The students follow the general study plans that apply in each subject at the respective university, and participate in the research environments that are established there.
