Request interlibrary loans to Almedalen Library
Interlibrary loans can be requested by students, researchers and employees at Uppsala University.
Materials that can be requested
- Printed books that are not held at Almedalen Library or any public library in Gotland
- Printed books found through Uppsala University Library's Search Tool are also requested via interlibrary loan
- Paper copies of individual articles
Materials that cannot be requested
- Printed books that are held at Almedalen Library. This also applies to books that are out on loan, only available on site in the Library, or only available in e-book format
- E-books
- Reading room loans or other types of reference material
- A complete issue of a journal
Requesting books and articles
In order to request an interlibrary loan you must have an active library account with the Libraries of Gotland as well a as registered borrower account in Libris.
Create an account with the Libraries of Gotland
To request books via interlibrary loan, search for them in Libris. Sign in to your Libris account and click 'Order'.
To request copies of articles from a journal, search for the journal in Libris. Click on 'Order' and provide the full reference details of the article you wish to request.
If the material you are looking for is not available in Libris, you are welcome to submit a manual request using the form provided
How long will it take?
It is difficult to say anything generally about the delivery time. It can take anything from a few days to 2 weeks. Books from international libraries take longer. Copies of articles are often delivered faster than books.
Loans and picking up material
You will receive a message when your interlibrary loan has arrived. The interlibrary material remains on the reservation shelf for 2 weeks. Interlibrary loans are collected and borrowed at the information desk, at the library you have chosen as the collection point. The owning library determines the loan period. Copies to employees at Uppsala University Campus Gotland are sent by internal mail.
