Linnaeus’ Hammarby – a perfect summer excursion

Linnaeus’ Hammarby lies embedded in an extensive agricultural landscape. The museum area, with buildings, exhibitions, café and shop are open May to September inclusive. In the surrounding Cultural Heritage Reserve, the County Council has recreated an 18th century agricultural landscape with forest, fields, grazing paddocks, a cabbage field and a hop garden. The reserve is open all year.

 

Linnaeus' Hammarby: opening times

During 2026 Linnaeus' Hammarby is open 14 May – 20 September. Groups are welcome to book visits 1 May – 30 September.

Museum, Linnaeus' house and exhibitions

  • 1–13 May: pre-booked groups only
  • 14–31 May: Friday–Sunday 11:00–17:00
    Open on Ascension Day 14 May. The café is open Tuesday–Sunday
  • 1–21 June: Friday–Sunday 11:00–17:00
    Closed Midsummer Eve. The café is open Tuesday–Sunday
  • 23 June–31 August: Tuesday–Sunday 11:00–17:00
  • 1–20 September: Saturday–Sunday 11:00–17:00
  • 21–30 September: pre-booked groups only

Opening times may vary during events at Linnaeus´ Hammarby.

The manor is only open for guided tours. There are 5–7 tours a day of which two are in English. Groups of more than 10 people have to book a private guide.

Grounds and cultural reserve

The gates to the garden and grounds close at 20:00.

Linnaeus’ Hammarby Cultural Heritage Reserve is open all year.

Guided tours in English

  • 14–17 May: 12:15 and 15:00
  • 18 May–21 June: Fridays at 12:00 and 15:15, Saturdays and Sundays at 12:15 and 15:00
  • 22 June–9 August at 12:15 and 15:00
  • 10 August–13 September every open day at 12:00 and 15:15

Guided tours in Swedish at 11:15, 12:45, and 14:30 (also 14:45 and 15:30 Saturdays and Sundays in May and June, and daily 22 June–19 August). Written information is available in English, French, German, Spanish and Russian.

The ordinary guided tours are included in the admission. Tickets can be bought in advance through linneanska.biljetto.com, or if available in the museum shop.
