About UUBF

The Uppsala University Behavioral Facility (UUBF) is a non-profit research infrastructure, supported by strategic funding from the Disciplinary Domain of Medicine and Pharmacy. The facility was established in 2011. We have a close collaboration with the university veterinarians and aim to refine methods and reduce the number of animals used in studies.
UUBF strives to be a resource for research groups at Uppsala University and for external clients engaged in laboratory animal research. To this end, UUBF provides support for planning, performing, analysing, and interpreting behavioural studies in mice, rats, and fish. We can also advise you on alternatives to animal experiments in your field of research. We can provide access to a wide range of laboratory facilities and equipment to conduct behavioural research at a high standard and low cost.
Our staff
Our staff has extensive experience in different areas of behavioural animal research. They can help you design your studies, write ethical applications, conduct statistical analyses, and interpret your experiments.
