The Uppsala University Behavioral Facility (UUBF) is a non-profit research infrastructure, supported by strategic funding from the Disciplinary Domain of Medicine and Pharmacy. The facility was established in 2011. We have a close collaboration with the university veterinarians and aim to refine methods and reduce the number of animals used in studies.

UUBF strives to be a resource for research groups at Uppsala University as well as external clients working with laboratory animal research. To this end, UUBF provides support for planning, performing, analysing and interpreting behavioural studies in mice, rats and fish. We can furthermore advise you on available alternatives to animal experiments for your field of research. We can offer access to a wide variety of laboratory facilities and equipment to carry out behavioural research at a high standard and low cost.

Our staff

Our staff has extensive experience in different areas of behavioural animal research. They can help you with designing your studies, writing ethical applications as well as statistical analysis and interpretation of your experiments.
