Swedigarch

Swedigarch is an infrastructure that harnesses and makes available the enormous knowledge potential contained in archaeological documentation, natural science analysis results and cultural heritage collections. The infrastructure enables archaeological and interdisciplinary research on these invaluable sources: from local in-depth studies to large-scale syntheses that span both time and space. With the infrastructure, researchers can carry out complex data-driven analyses that were previously not possible.

Uppsala University serves as the host of Swedigarch, and other participants are Umeå University, Lund University, Stockholm University, Karlstad University, University of Gothenburg, the Swedish National Heritage Board and the National Historical Museums of Sweden.

This research infrastructure is deemed to be of national interest by the Swedish Research Council, and receives funding from the Council for Research Infrastructures (RFI).
