Mental Heath in Time and Space

A Study on Mental Health Based on Young Women's Perspective and Lived Experiences

About the Project

In this project, we look at how young girls and women feel and think about their mental health. The goal is to understand why more and more people, especially young girls and women, report experiencing mental health issues. We want to know how they perceive their own mental health and what they believe influences it.

Purpose

The aim is to investigate how teenage girls and young women themselves view on the struggle with mental health issues and what contributes to their well-being. We want to understand how they see their mental health in relation to their friends, family, leisure activities, and self-image. Additionally, we want to know if their view on mental health changes over time.

We will interview young girls and women to hear about their experiences and opinions on mental health, and what they believe affects their well-being.

In the project, we focus on young women and try to answer questions such as:

  • How do they describe experiencing mental health issues?
  • How does the transition from adolescence to adulthood affect their view of their mental health?
  • How do they connect their mental health to what is happening in their lives, and how does this change over time?
