Osteoinductive study scaffold
Project overview
This project was initiated by the SLU (Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences) Institution of Clinical Sciences professor Odd Höglund, in collaboration with theinnovative company Cavix AB. The goal was to develop a model of a locking compartment for bane graft putty, featuring accessibility perforations. These scaffolds were printed and utilized in an osteoinductive study of a ceramicmaterial and subsequently implanted for evaluation.

Work description
Technology: FDM
Material: Medical Grade PETG
The work involved the design and optimization of the device for 30 printing. A key task was selecting the mast suitable material, which needed ta be inert, non-biodegradable, and manufactured according to GMP standards.
Additionally, the final structure required a smooth surface to meet the study's specifications. The chosen material was PETG. Twenty samples were printed using an FDM machine to complete the project.
