On Monday 31 August, there will be a Welcome Reception for all new students, Swedish and international, at Campus Gotland.
This is the programme:
13:30 We assemble outside Rindiborgen, the building of the Student Union Rindi
13:40-14:00 The Knight of Knowledge will lead the way through the medieval city of Visby to the reception at St. Nicolai Ruin
14:00-15:00 The ceremony, among other things with music by Gotland Jazztrio and speeches from:
- Anders Hagfeldt, Vice-Chancellor at Uppsala University
- Jenny Helin, Adviser to the Vice-Chancellor for Campus Gotland
- Meit Fohlin, chairman of the region board (Region Gotland)
- Representatives from the Gotland Student Union Rindi
Lamningen 2-18 September
As a new student at Campus Gotland, you have the opportunity to be part of a tradition known as Lamningen ('the Lambing').
Provisionally, it will run from 2 to 18 September, ending with a 'Gasque' (a traditional academic student event featuring a seated, multi-course dinner) on 26 September. During Lamningen, you will have the opportunity to get to know your new course mates in a relaxed and enjoyable environment, while also becoming more familiar with Visby.
Lamningen is arranged by Gotland Student Union Rindi. Further information about Lamningen 2026 will be released during the summer.
International students will also receive information about the various Lamning activities during Orientation Day 28 August.
