Welcome to Uppsala University and Visby! On this page, we give some tips for you who will study at Campus Gotland this autumn.

Student våren 2024

The autumn semester starts on 31 August

Soon you will join us in Sweden, Gotland and Visby and get ready for your studies and student life. We are looking forward to your arrival and hope you are too!

The autumn semester starts Monday 31 August and ends Friday 15 January 2027. Find other important dates in our Checklist for new students.

Activate account and register

As an admitted student, you can activate your student account and in the beginning of August you can register for your courses. On the University’s general welcome page for new students, you’ll find information on how to activate your student account and register for your courses.

On 26 and 27 August, we offer a shuttle service for new students at Visby airport and Visby ferry terminal for certain flights and ferry arrivals.

Our student hosts will greet you at the terminals and drive you in a minivan to your accommodation in Visby. Some waiting may occur when many students arrive at the same time.

We have listed the ferries and flights we plan to service in the registration form. Please note the arrival service is primarily for the individual student and not for any travel companions. You need to register your arrival information in the registration form, open 1 June - 19 August. Link to registration form.

If you arrive outside the official Arrival Days, do not worry. Taxi is available at both Visby Airport and Visby ferry terminal. The airport is less than 5 km from Campus Gotland (directions in Google maps) and from the ferry terminal it is a 10-minute walk to campus (directions in Google maps).

From 24 August, you are warmly welcome to visit the Reception, Cramérgatan 3, that has its regular opening hours from 08:00 to 16:30 Monday – Thursday, and 08:00 to 15:30 Fridays. The welcome service includes:

  • Welcome bag (welcome folder, small reflector and SIM card)
  • One-time passcode for the student internet account (requires formal ID, bring your passport)
  • Campus Card – once you have been notified by email that it is ready for pickup
