Campus Engelska parken Humanities Centre is beautifully situated between Carolinaparken, Stadskyrkogården and the Botanical Garden in central Uppsala.

The first buildings in the neighbourhood were built in the mid-19th century to accommodate students in chemistry, physics, mineralogy and geology. The latest building, which houses the Humanities Theatre, was inaugurated in 2017.

Find the English Park campus

On foot or by bike

From Uppsala city centre and Stora torget it is easiest to follow Drottninggatan and the hill up towards the University Library Carolina Rediviva. Walk or cycle through Carolinaparken at the back of the library and you will come straight to Campus Engelska Parken.

Air stations for bikes are located outside entrance 3L (building 16) and at The Svedberg Laboratory.

By bus

The nearest bus stop is Slottsbacken. Bus number 11 runs from the Central Station to the Slottsbacken stop, outside the University Library Carolina Rediviva. Then walk through Carolinaparken at the back of the library to get to Campus Engelska Parken.

Find the best route for you on Uppsala Länstrafik's search page.

Car

The parking spaces in the English Park block require a special permit that is only valid for Uppsala University employees.

Parking for the disabled is available near our entrances. The usual permit for the disabled applies there.

As English Park's buildings are constructed in stages and linked together, it can be difficult to find your way around the campus. The basement level of one building may be the ground floor when you move to another.

Follow the tips below to find your room. We are happy to help you in the Service Centre if you are unsure.

Find the right room

Start by finding out which building you are going to. The house number is the first number to the left of the hyphen. The numbers that follow indicate first the floor, and then the number of the hall.

For example, if your timetable says Eng 6-1023, it is house 6, floor 1, room 23.

If there is a K before it, it indicates that the room is on the basement level. For example 2-K1028 is house 2, basement level, room 28.

Mazemap

To easily find your way between and within campuses, you can use the Mazemap map service on your computer, smartphone or tablet. You can search directly for a room and have it placed on the map, e.g. English Park 2-0022.

You can easily navigate the system by zooming in and out, selecting a floor with the list on the right, and even get directions for the shortest route to your destination.
