Admission and registration
For students at the Departments of Chemistry at BMC and Ångström laboratory. Admission to courses and programmes happen at universityadmissions.se. Exceptions are a few courses within programmes and exchange studies - see information given within your programme or as an exchange student.
Have you forgotten to apply in time? Our courses usually open for late applications. Make your late application as soon as it opens, they are handled in the order they are made.
Admitted to Master's Programme in Chemistry
Information to students admitted to the programme with start Autumn 2025.
The Master’s programme in chemistry begins with an information meeting and roll call on Tuesday 26 August at BMC (the Biomedical Centre). Admitted students will receive an e-mail with exact time and place and more information about this meeting.
You can find how to activate your student account on our pages for new students. Please note that you will not be able to register yourself, we will register you on the first course after you have attended the roll call.
If you do not have the possibility to attend the roll call, it is important that you inform the study counsellor: master@chemistry.uu.se and the programme coordinator: kemimaster@kemi.uu.se.
Admitted to Master's Programme in Battery Technology and Energy Storage
Information to students admitted to the programme with start Autumn 2025.
The Master's Programme in Battery Technology and Energy Storage will start with a mandatory roll-call during the week before the course start at Ångström Laboratory. Admitted students will receive an e-mail with exact time and place and more information about this meeting.
Contact batterymaster@kemi.uu.se if you for some reason cannot participate.
The first course "Introduction to Energy Storage" starts on Monday, September 1st and information about the course is distributed via our learning platform Studium.
You need to activate your student account in order to access Studium.
You will find information on how to activate your student account and more on our pages for new students. Please note that you will not be able to register yourself, we will register you on the first course after you have attended the roll call.
Admitted to exchange studies in chemistry
Information to students admitted to study chemistry as exchange students during Autumn 2025.
There will be a roll-call and information meeting for exchange students in chemisty at BMC (the Biomedical Centre) during the week before the start of the semester. Admitted students will receive an e-mail with details about this meeting from the exchange co-ordinator.
You can find how to activate your student account on the university pages for new students. You do not need to register yourself on the first course, we will help you with that if needed.
Registration to course
If you are admitted to a course and want to take it, register for the course in Ladok. Registration in Ladok is usually open until the day before the course starts. Exact dates are found in Ladok.
Exceptions:
- Current Trends in Chemistry (1KB467)
- Introduction to Energy Storage (1KB744)
These courses do not use registration in Ladok. If you are admitted to the Master's Programme in Chemistry or the Master's Programme in Battery Technology and Energy Storage, see information reagarding admission to your programme. If you are admitted to the course as a freestanding student contact as at kursexp@kemi.uu.se the week before the course start and we will register you.
If you are admitted with conditions
We check eligibility during the weeks before the start of the course. If you are eligible by then your status will be changed to “admitted” (check universityadmissions.se or in Ladok) and you will be able to register. If you are not found eligible you will be notified by email before the beginning of the course.
If you are on the reserve list
Reserves will be admitted until course start if there are places available on the course. If you are placed on the reserve list, you may be contacted by the department via email to be offered a place. Note! There can be a short window for replies, keep track of your email!
If you have a problem registering
If you are admitted and have problems with the registration before the course start, send us an email: kursexp@kemi.uu.se
If you do not want to take the course you are admitted to
If you want to cancel your application to the course please do it via universityadmissions.se (or antagning.se) or in Ladok. Important: if you have registered on the course you must discontinue the course in Ladok, a cancelation via UniversityAdmissions is not sufficient if you are registered.
Re-registration to a course
Contact the Course Office Chemistry if you previously have taken a course and need to be re-registered to complete it. If you need to complete the laboratory part of a course, you should contact us 1–2 weeks before the course starts by emailing us at kursexp@kemi.uu.se.
