Your first Department Tour
We are located at the English Park Campus in Uppsala. If you are standing outside in the park Engelska parken, you can see our floor on the third level, in the gray, slightly newer building close to the cemetery.
When you enter the building, the floor numbering is different; our corridor is in building 3 on floor 2! The address is Engelska parken, Thunbergsvägen 3H

To reach our corridor, enter through the main entrance of the English Park Campus then the stairs lead you up to floor 2 - there is also an elevator available - after this go through the glass door that leads to Building 3 and Building 2.

On the left side inside the door, you will find our student sofa. On the shelf next to it, there are books you can borrow or keep if you wish. If you have books related to our disiplines that you would like to donate, you are welcome to place them on the shelf. It is the Archaeologist who displays their items on the shelves opposite the sofa.
Once you've tried out the sofa, you can move on. Turn left - towards building 3, a quickly turn right, and continue forward until you reach the information sign for the Forum for African Studies. This is roughly where the department's corridor begins.

Room Eng/3-2028 in the corner - all the way down of the corridor - is Our seminar room. Many of our courses have lectures and seminars here.
On Wednesday and Friday mornings, we have research seminars in the room. Wednesdays in ethnology or cultural anthropology. Some Fridays in African Studies.

If you follow the corridor around the corner and then go through the glass doors heading and down the short stair - there is an elevator next to the stair* - you will find to the right a smaller corridor. Some of our teachers, researchers and PhD students are located here. Note that you are now in building two (2)!
In the 'small' corridor our room we call "the Room facing the courtyard" (Swedish: Rummet åt gården) is located. Sometimes you may be directed here to meet your supervisor and sometimes for teaching.
*If you need to use the elevator, please contact someone from the staff. A staff campus card is required to unlock the elevator.
