New Semester: Welcome to us!
Whether you are new to the university or continuing your studies with us, we hope you will have a great start to an inspiring and rewarding semester. We've put together some useful information to help you get started at the beginning of the semester.
University Studies
University studies offer a great deal of freedom, but also require personal responsibility.
An important part of your studies is to:
- read the course literature
- come prepared for seminars and workshops
- take an active part in discussions
- manage your time effectively
Seminars and certain other course activities require mandatory attendance. Attending all teaching activities helps you get the most out of the course.
The Student Gateway and Studium
Most of the information you need during your studies can be found here on the Student Gateway and in Studium.
In Studium you will find:
- course information
- schedules
- course materials
- messages from teachers
Make sure to check both the Student Gateway and Studium regularly so that you do not miss important information.
Communication
All Uppsala University students receive a student email account.
Important information and Studium notifications are sent to this address, so check it regularly.
When contacting teachers or the department, please use either Studium or your student email account. This helps us respond more efficiently.
Teachers respond to messages during normal working hours. Please do not expect replies during evenings, weekends or holidays.
Student Support
Students have different backgrounds, needs, and experiences.
The university offers support and guidance in areas such as:
- study skills
- academic writing
- accessibility support
- student health and wellbeing
If you need support, seek it early. The sooner you do, the easier it is to find a good solution.
Apply for courses on time
If you are continuing your studies, you must apply for upcoming courses through antagning.se and register in Ladok.
This also applies to students enrolled in Bachellor’s and Master’s programmes.
