Study Support

NAIS Certificate

If you require special support in your studies, you need to obtain a certificate from the coordinators for targeted study support.

  1. Click through to the page Studying with a disability.
  2. From that page, you apply for support. If you have one, attach a certificate of permanent disability from a doctor, psychologist, speech therapist, or equivalent.
  3. After that, you book a meeting with one of the coordinators. During the meeting, a decision is made regarding the support you will receive. Your support will be documented in what is known as a NAIS certificate.
  4. Once you have received your NAIS certificate, email it to the Course Administrator at the department, who will inform the relevant staff.

Routines for support in studies

Before each new semester and course, you need to email your current NAIS certificate to the course administrator at the department. The department does not retain NAIS certificates, even if they are valid for several terms. All NAIS certificates are valid from a specific date until a specific date.

If you do not have a NAIS certificate, you must apply for one.

If you do not have a current NAIS certificate, you must contact your coordinator and have your previous one updated.

If you have a NAIS certificate with decisions/recommendations for support and adjustments during an on-site exam, you need to notify this when you register for the exam in Ladok for students. You must notify this before every on-site exam you are going to take.

The course administrator will post an announcement in your Studium course when registration opens and closes. There you will be asked to email your current NAIS certificate to kursadm@antro.uu.se.

You will receive one (1) extra hour of writing time, and other support listed in your NAIS certificate will be arranged if possible.

The exam is taken in the Inspera tool (digital exam).

You must bring valid photo ID.

You will write on a computer provided in the exam room and should have your login details with password A for Studium/Ladok ready at the time of the exam.

If you have decisions/recommendations for support and adjustments during the on-site exam, you may be seated in a different location from your classmates when taking the exam. You will receive a message to your student email from the course administrator with details of where to go once this has been arranged.

For on-site exam in standard teaching rooms, written assignments, take-home exams and oral exams, the examiner (course coordinator) decides whether extra time or other support is appropriate or can be provided. The basis for that decision is always what is stated in your current NAIS certificate.
