Apply for targeted study support

If you have a long-term disability, you can apply for targeted study support during your studies at Swedish higher education institutions. To apply, you must have a certificate issued by a licensed healthcare professional, speech therapist, or equivalent that confirms the disability.

If you are an international student, please note that you need to have received your Uppsala University ID or have BankID available in order to make an application.

How to apply for support:

  1. Apply for targeted study support through the application system "Nais".
  2. Once you have filled in your application you will get an email from a disability coordinator and be asked to book an appointment with them for consultation. At the start of the semester, there might be a waiting time to get an appointment with the coordinator.
  3. After the consultation, you will receive a reply with the decided and/or recommended support. You will receive an email when your reply is ready to download from Nais. You will also receive information about who your contact person is on the course. Decisions about support are only made after you have registered for a course.
  4. Your application will be rejected if you have not submitted a certificate proving long-term disability, if you have not completed your application by booking an appointment with a coordinator, or if you are not registered for the course.

Check your spam

When you are waiting for an email from the University, also check your spam folder as the email may end up there.

If you have been approved for support

We recommend that you show your Nais reply to the contact person at the programme for further processing of your support.

If you have received a reminder that your Nais reply will expire soon and you want continued support/adjustments in your studies, you only need to submit a new application in Nais. If you need the same support as before, you can write it in the free text box in the application. If you have any questions, you are always welcome to contact or book an appointment with your coordinator.
