More secure IT – multi-factor authentication is required
A majority of all IT breaches and cyberattacks can be avoided using
so-called multi-factor authentication (MFA). From 17 June 2024, the University is introducing a more secure login using MFA, to access email and files, and other services in Microsoft 365.
All students at Uppsala University are offered a Microsoft 365 Education account including Microsoft’s Office package, calendar and email service.
Microsoft 365 Education is a collection of online and offline tools and services for students:
- You can download Microsoft Office Desktop to your computer. It works for both Windows and Mac. This includes, but is not limited to: Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Email, Calendar, Address book and Tasks.
- OneDrive up to 100 GB storage.
Not all available apps in Microsoft 365 Education are activated in our environment.
