About the course
The course gives basic knowledge of the ecosystem and the environmental conditions of the Baltic Sea. Special attention is given to human-induced problems in the Baltic Sea as well as to restoration measures to improve the environmental situation. The course also includes an individual literature project.
Outline for distance course: Teaching is mainly through homework via the internet in the form of exercises and a literature assignment. The course has an optional online course start at the beginning of the course, and a mandatory on-campus weekend meeting at the end of the course. Communication between teachers and students takes place on a learning management system and with email and e-meeting tools. Access to a computer with a stable internet connection and a web camera is required.
