About the course

This course provides an introduction to the principles and applications of quantum computing, focusing on the physics, technology, and programming paradigms that distinguish quantum from classical computing.

This course does not assume that you have taken a course in quantum mechanics which is introduced in this course.

You will learn the fundamentals of qubits, quantum gates, and circuits, as well as how to program quantum processing units (QPU) using quantum programming languages. The course covers foundational quantum algorithms, such as quantum teleportation, Shor's algorithm, and quantum cryptography, along with practical experience in quantum circuit design and simulation.

Students who have already taken a course in quantum physics are recommended to attend 1FA019 Principles of Quantum Computing and Quantum Computing F instead.
