About the course
Theory plays a central role in astrophysics, using physics, mathematics, and computation, to make models and simulations of celestial objects and phenomena. As objects must be observed from a distance, theory must be used to connect observational data together into a full understanding of the objects and their place in the universe, as well as to predict new phenomena. This course covers the basic physics and tools needed to create theoretical models in astrophysics.
