About the course
The course includes studies of sustainable development and energy sources. Basic mathematical and physical concepts will be covered. An introduction to prerequisites for wind power development including how a wind turbine works, planning for wind energy, environmental impact, location and economic aspects will be given. The phases of wind power projects are studied. Oral and written presentations in a scientific context will be discussed and practised in the course.
The course focuses on project management methodology and processes specific to the development of wind power projects. Project planning, project team organisation, negotiations and conflict resolutions are important parts of the course. A site study visit to an operating wind farm is included.
