About the course
The course provides a fundamental understanding of organic chemistry and biochemistry with a focus on the molecules of life and their functions. You will learn about the structure, reactivity, and nomenclature of organic compounds, the composition and role of biomolecules in cells, as well as central processes such as catalysis, energy metabolism, and signal transduction. The course also includes laboratory work where you practice methods for the synthesis, purification, and analysis of organic compounds and biomolecules.
