About the course

The course provides advanced knowledge in electrochemistry with a focus on energy storage in batteries. It covers both fundamental theory and practical aspects, as well as advanced electrochemical analysis methods. The course addresses the relationship between electrochemistry, battery electrode design, and the selection of electrode and electrolyte materials. It further analyses polarisation and its importance for electrochemical energy storage and energy conversion. The course also emphasises the role of electrolytes and provides an overview of applications within general electrochemistry for a broader audience.
