About the course
The course will give you an orientation in epistemology and philosophy of science in relation to social science. By investigating the question whether there are facts within social science and how these facts are created, disseminated and questioned, the course will unveil the interdependency between facts and theories showing how they become mutually dependent. The course tries to follow the temporal progression in regards to the philosophy of science describing how different styles of theoretical thinking and foundations for different disciplines within social science have shifted through time - which inevitably have resulted in a higher degree of specialization and complexity.
