About the course
The course examines the spatial dimensions of power and politics, including territoriality, borders, and geopolitics. Building on advanced theoretical perspectives in political geography, it analyzes how political processes shape, and are shaped by, geographical contexts across multiple scales. The course highlights how spatial orders and power relations can be understood through concepts such as scale, place, and networks.
In an era of global tensions and shifting power relations, spatial perspectives on politics are more relevant than ever. The course provides theoretical and analytical tools for advanced analysis and critical examination, with particular relevance for research in political geography and for careers in spatial planning, policy analysis, and international relations.
