A Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) within the social sciences including at least 30 credits in sociology.
Proficiency in English equivalent to the Swedish upper secondary course English 6. This requirement can be met either by achieving the required score on an internationally recognised test, or by previous upper secondary or university studies in some countries. About the course
The course gives you advanced insight into classical and contemporary sociological theories that explain what shapes social action, with a particular focus on economic action. You examine how social contexts both enable and constrain action, for example by reducing uncertainty. Drawing on research in economic sociology, organisational sociology and the sociology of work, the course analyses how the design, execution and outcomes of purposeful action are shaped by institutional settings, local orders and shared meaning systems.
